In 1967, the year that the lawsuit was filed, the SanshiMunicipal Employees United Committee, comprised of members from the Yokkaichi Municipal Employees Labor Union and the Mie Prefecture Teachers Association, became the funding body, and the Organization to Support the Yokkaichi Air Pollution Lawsuit was created.
Through the many years it took for the final ruling, the supporting members called out to local residents via newsletters and other means to garner support for the plaintiffs and participation in the movement against environmental pollution.
