Points of the Lawsuit
2504
The three main points of the lawsuit were the causal relationship between the soot in the air and the health of the plaintiffs, liability of joint culprits, and willful negligence.
With regards to the causal relationship between the soot emitted by the factories and the health of the plaintiffs, they argued their case based on epidemiological evidence obtained through cooperation with researchers.
The defense, on the other hand, argued that there was no meteorological or medical relationship between the two, and that the companies in the industrial complex were not liable as joint culprits since there was no collaboration between them.
