Basic Law for Environmental Pollution Control: Drafting and Revisions 2623

In 1967, the Basic Law for Environmental Pollution Control was established with the aim of implementing comprehensive preventive measures in a structured manner. The regulation was passed under the law to set environmental standards and implement environmental pollution prevention plans.
In the 1970 revision to the law, the clause "harmony with economic development" was deleted taking into account the intensifying environmental pollution issues nationwide. The revision clearly stated that the primary objective of preventing environmental pollution was to preserve living environments, an issue that is asimportantas protecting the good health of citizens.
