Establishment of ICETT 2632

In order to utilize the expertise gained through airpollution in Yokkaichi and shareindustrial pollution prevention technologiesas well as administrative methodswith other countries, in 1990 Yokkaichi City together with Mie Prefecture set upthe Center for Environmental Technology Transfer.
In 1991, with a 3-billion investment from Mie Prefecture and Yokkaichi City and another 3.2 billion yen from businesses in the Chubu region, the organization evolved into the current International Center for Environmental Technology Transfer (ICETT).
ICETT is currently engaged in research and training related to laws and technologies to protect the environment and is contributing to environmental studies globally.
